In a cosy neighbourhood lane, known as Lorong Kurau, many reputable restaurants have found their spot amongst the greenery and Bangsar community. Similarly, Podgy Kurau has become a household name in the area, with many paying a visit just to have a taste of the endless sweet creations and savoury offerings.
If you somehow find yourself in the picturesque location, we recommend you first try the coffee. Go for black if you prefer something with less calories, the latte if you’re a fan of creaminess or mocha if you need that kick of chocolate and coffee goodness.
Western dishes are a hit at Podgy Kurau, with endless options of breakfast, sandwiches and pastas for you to choose from. Again, for a healthy start, try the avocado toast featuring smashed avocados, poached eggs, chilli flakes and smoked salmon. The steak sandwich is another great choice that comes with garlic aioli, caramelised onions, capscicum, cheddar cheese and salad.
Vegetarians can rejoice as Podgy Kurau also serves some vegetarian delights. Our favourite is the vegetarian spaghetti aglio olio with sauteed mushrooms, cherry tomatoes and baby spinach. But the highlight of this restaurant are the desserts – lemon poppy seed cake, pandan cake with shredded coconut, orange cake, matcha cheesecake, lemon meringue tart, pavlova and more. Just by looking at the options, we’re already spoilt for choice.
