Presented as a set of three, these works reveal Ismail Abdul Latiff’s energetic handling of colour and surface on an intimate scale. Each composition is densely worked with vivid passages of orange, yellow, red, blue and green, creating richly layered fields in which line, gesture and texture appear to move continuously across the paper.
Although closely related in palette and execution, the three works retain their own individual character, with shifting concentrations of colour and mark-making giving each composition a distinct rhythm. Viewed together, they form a lively and cohesive group, demonstrating Ismail’s ability to build visual intensity through repeated gestures, contrasting hues and densely interwoven forms.
