Long Thien Shih employed the use of pastel on paper for this piece. A majestic, muscular bull is a subject matter that is highly decorative on its own, but when captured in art, it becomes a totally ornamental masterpiece. A beautiful butterfly is also illustrated in this work, almost like it’s conversing with the bull. Beautifully illustrated using a bold electric blue backdrop, the bull is highlighted, almost like a three-dimensional effect. The artist also captures the stoic and proud quality of this creature, as well as the detailing that makes the bull.
