Abdul Latiff Mohidin produced eight sketches involving the Rumbia (hardwood plant) around 1964 to 1965, with at least one other like this depicting a trinity with two on the sides in the background. (L.I.N.E. Latiff Mohidin: From Point to Point, Page 134), emphasising on the “rhythm and architecture” … “Resolve intensifies, work multiplies.” In 1964, Latiff was returning home from his Art studies in Germany. The same year, he held a solo exhibition at the Bangkapi Gallery in Bangkok where he unveiled his Pago-Pago works although he may have also done so in a solo show at the Laden Galerie in Berlin. Interestingly, there seems to be a touch of humour with his cactus-like protrusions looking like some kind of humanoid plant with head and limbs.
