In Many Faces, Khoo Sui Hoe creates a mesmerising composition of stylised faces, arranged within a warm palette of glowing oranges and pinks. Delicate lines and translucent washes create a dreamlike rhythm, while the repeated faces suggest themes of identity, human connection and the many facets of the self. The central face, surrounded by smaller expressions, lends the work a quiet sense of mystery and introspection. Illustrated on page 191 of The Painted World of Khoo Sui Hoe – A Retrospective Exhibition, hosted by the Penang State Art Museum in 2007.
