Achan’s works often explore themes of inner reflection, the human spirit, and the environment, rendered through his abstract yet expressive use of colour and form. His mastery of various media, including oil, acrylic, and mixed media, allows him to experiment with textures and layers, creating compositions that invite viewers to contemplate both the physical and metaphysical realms.
Bhanu Achan was initially sent to India to study medicine, where he began to delve further into the teachings of Hinduism, yoga, dharma and karma. This spiritual side is ever present in his paintings. His career has spanned for about forty years and his artworks have been part of the National Art Gallery’s collection.
