Rooted in the timeless mysticism of Rumi’s poetry, Jalaini Abu Hassan’s From M. Rumi’s Poem is a delicate meditation on emotion, spirituality and the human experience. Through expressive watercolour washes and poetic imagery, Jalaini transforms the written word into a visual reverie, quiet, mysterious and deeply introspective. A compelling work from the artist’s earlier period, it reveals his enduring fascination with the meeting of poetry, symbolism and visual expression.
