Raduan Man favours a combination of media to project his imaginative approach in making art, combining printmaking and painting using a multitude of materials such as wood, aluminium and canvas, adapting skilful printmaking techniques onto canvas. Raduan Man graduated with a BFA at UiTM in 2000 and followed it up with a double Masters, first in Painting at the University of Wolverhampton, UK in 2003, and then in Printmaking at the Camberwell School of Art, UK in 2006. He won the Juror’s Award in the Tanjong Heritage Art Competition in 2002. Since his first solo called Fresh Markings at NN Gallery in 2003 where he showed works of oil, acrylic and woodprints, he has had seven solo shows namely Living Metal in 2012. Sky Poems is a lyrical and contemplative oil on linen work by Raduan Man, an artist celebrated for his nuanced exploration of light, atmosphere, and the poetics of the natural world. Executed over several years, the painting reflects a sustained meditation on the sky as both subject and metaphor, an ever shifting expanse that invites introspection and quiet reverie.
