For all of you with a sporty and casual-chic taste, VANS has opened a concept store here at Sunway Pyramid. VANS is an American based manufacturer of sneakers, BMX shoes, snowboarding boots, skateboarding and other types of shoes, catering primarily to the skateboarder/surfer/snowboarder youth market. It also sells apparel and accessories catering to this group.

When it comes to ambience and décor, the store’s design actually evolved from VANS’ heritage utilising wood, concrete, and steel while evoking raw beauty, both natural and urban of Southern California’s surf, skate, and youth lifestyle. The design cues communicate the key messages of creativity and self- expression through action sports and youth culture that constitute the VANS lifestyle.

It is aesthetic and whimsical, yet contemporary and functional. Using recycled off-cuts, Woodshop’s eastern heritage infused with a western twist introduces a whole new meaning to craft.
The woodshop Living signature collection at the 1 Utama Shopping Centre consists of aptly named items such as the board, kofi, the w, tasse de thé, kofi kofi, blok, cip, matchboxe, barstul and threeplets, as well as accessories ranging from artistic picture frames to table décor pieces. Ingeniously designed, each Woodshop piece has a story, a great conversation starter.

Woodshop uses discarded wood, or also known as off-cut wood, particularly ultra-durable grade ‘A’ plantation teak wood, from furniture manufacturing factories, turning them into modern contemporary furniture and accessories without compromising its form, function and design.
