When it comes to picking a place to dine out, once can understand why Belinda Chee chooses Celadon Royal Thai Cuisine at the Pavilion KL. Being a food lover who eats out at least three times a week, this lovely lass says that her husband and she stumbled upon this restaurant about a year ago while shopping at the Pavillion.
For a person who is not really into spicy food, she was a bit hesitant to try out the fare here at first but upon tasting it, she was blown away by the dishes they ordered.
“I know it sounds ironic that I like Celadon which serves Thai food which is spicy but this is because the staffs here comply when I request for them to reduce the spiciness. They are really sweet and prepare the dishes according to the customer’s needs,” she says.
A culinary experience at a Thai restaurant is never complete without the Tom Yam Goong (RM19.90) which happens to be on of Belinda’s favorite here. According to her, the prawns are fresh and are of a substantial size.
“The soup tastes just right, without being too spicy or sour. I prefer the Tom Yam in a clear soup because I feel that coconut milk affects the taste, making it taste more like curry.”
Another one of Belinda’s favorite is the Garoupa with Thai Chilli Sauce (RM65.90). The fish is friend crisp with a hint of freshly-made Thai sweet chilli sauce, not the bottled type, mind you. It comes in a good-sized portion and tastes really good.
“What I like about this dish is that they’ve been dissected the fish for you, so it’s already been filleted for easy consumption. I Love that,” says Belinda.
However, this talented host’s ultimate favorite is the Green Curry Chicken served with salted fish or butter bread (RM22.90). The curry has the typical Thai flavor but with just the right amount of spiciness. “The bread is a lot like our roti canai but sweeter. The combination of both the curry and bread is a match made in heaven and just that dish alone can be made into entire meal,” she adds.
Belinda also loves the Mango Mamma Smoothie (RM13), served here. According to her, she had tried this smoothies at other places where the mangoes tend to be sour but here, they are succulent and sweet making its taste irresistible.
Apart from the scrumptious dishes servers here, mostly being her favorites. Belinda lovers the decor of the restaurant. There are a lot of Thai elements such as Thai silk pillows, wall decorations and custom-made chairs with covers featuring drawings of a Thai man and woman. The place is white, clean and has an air of class to it.
One of television’s very own darlings has discovered an authentic Thai hideaway with original flavored Thai food combined with an alluring ambience.
